Tasks:

Your task is to present a written empathic response from the perspective of a main character from William Shakespeare’s Macbeth.

You are to choose a character from the list below:

Macbeth

You are Macbeth and you have just heard the premonitions of the three witches. Write down your thoughts, feelings and reflections.

Lady Macbeth

You are Lady Macbeth and you have just learned of the premonitions of the three witches after receiving a letter from Macbeth. Write down your thoughts and feelings.

Banquo

You are Banquo and you have just heard the premonitions of the three witches. Write down your thoughts, feelings and reflections.

You should remember that:

• Your response must be written in the first person and assume the voice of the chosen character. You must stay in character throughout your writing.

• Your response must show a comprehensive knowledge of the text and of the particular character’s role in it, and must not merely tell the story.

• Your response must convincingly interpret the character’s likely reactions to a specified event.

It must be written in a suitable and convincing style
