Stage 1 English Literary Studies

Students are to read the first half of ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ to the point specified in class. They should also ensure they annotate for the elements noted in class too.

Students should ensure they are up-to-date with the texts studied in class and that all annotations and tasks are complete. ‘The Lottery’, ‘The Pedestrian’, ‘V for Vendetta’, ‘Unwind’.

In their own time students should read a variety of their own material (fiction and non-fiction) to ensure their confidence in reading continues towards the Critical Reading exam.
